Before you start promoting
your web site, you need to determine what keyphrases to use. Most people just
use a ton of keywords in their site and then wonder why they have no visitors.
To get noticed by the search engines you have to come up with the appropriate
keyphrases. Start by writing
down all the phrases that you think someone would type in when doing a search
for information relating to your website. Then try them out on the search
engines.

your keyphrases and your website is ready for the search engines, it's time
to submit it. Do not submit your website
to often, the search engines will consider it spam. I submit my site when
it's updated with new content or once a month. There is no need to submit
it every day, once a week may be ok, but I wouldn't risk it. The first thing
that I recommend you do is Add your URL to Google. No matter what you read
or what anyone says, you HAVE TO add your site to Google manually.
